When to travel

Temperature:

The Maldives have a hot tropical climate. There are two monsoons, the southwest from May to October and the northeast from November to April. Generally the southwest brings more wind and rain in June and July. The temperature rarely falls below 25°C (77°F).

Best time to go:

If you're looking for a few extra hours of sunshine then you should visit the Maldives between December and April, which is also the brilliant height of the dry season. Although the transition months of November and April are said to be associated with increased water clarity and better visibility for divers.

We can book resorts in the Maldives that promise to be 'the last paradise on earth'. Where you can enjoy a pristine paradise on a tranquil tropical island with swaying palm trees, pure white beaches and brilliant turquoise lagoons, the Maldives won't disappoint.

These islands extend in a long chain some 1,200 miles from north to south in the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean.

For a long time, the Republic of Maldives was one of the best-kept secrets in the world. There are over 7,000 islands, many of them merely low-lying coral reefs; only about 200 islands are inhabited.

The Indian Ocean is a paradise for watersports enthusiasts and sunseekers alike.

The country's 26 natural atolls offer nautical delights from night-fishing trips, windsurfing and scuba diving. Many islands embrace enormous lagoons, where bright blue-green water laps gently.

We can arrange for those wanting to see the Maldivian way of life, visits to Malé, the intriguing capital city, and make daytime visits to island communities close to resort islands. It's not impossible to visit the outer islands, but it's difficult enough to deter all but the most dedicated and determined. An Inter Atoll Travel Permit is required to visit islands outside the tourist zone.
