Oman is another of the emerging holiday destinations in the Middle East. The capital Muscat is at present the main holiday resort area in Oman with a number of luxury 5 star hotels having established a presence there. Holidays in Oman are for those that want guaranteed sunshine year-round with the romance of an Arabian flavour to enhance the experience.

The hotels in Oman are mainly all 5 star properties with luxury accommodation and every guest need catered for. Like Dubai and Qatar the hotels in Oman are the only places where alcohol is served and like all Middle Eastern countries that permit the drinking of alcohol, there are stiff penalties for drinking alcohol outside of these premises.

Activities for guests consist of cultural visits to mosques and markets, watersports, or desert recreation, such as camel rides, desert barbecues and four-wheel excursions driving across the dunes and dry riverbeds (wadi-bashing as it is termed locally).
